BRDC 500 for Pre-War Sports Cars
One of the special races of the weekend is the annual BRDC 500, a race for pre-war sports cars in the best tradition of Brooklands events in the 1930s. Run only once a year at this event, the race is an hour-long two-driver race and always attracts a fine grid of cars ranging from the early 1920s through to the final days before the war in 1939.
Just as in period, Italian cars tends to dominate, with Alfa Romeo and Maserati to the fore, although British marques like Bentley, MG and Alta can get among the Italian racers. Provisional Timetable Friday 25 July 16:00 - Practice 12 - 25 mins Saturday 26 July 17:00 - Race 10 - 60 mins |
