Historic Aston Martins
To celebrate Aston Martin's racing heritage, the race during the Silverstone Classic will be open to all racing Astons produced between 1931 and 1959, so the evocative pre-war Ulsters and Speed models will share the grid with some absolute classics from the 1950s.
The production DB2 was the forerunner to the range of cars immortalised in James Bond movies, while the race will also re-visit one of Aston's finest racing moments. In 1959, Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby won the Le Mans 24-Hour race in a DBR1 and there is every chance that the very car they raced 49 years ago will be back on the grid at Silverstone.
