The Silverstone Classic celebrates not only racing cars but also racing bikes from yesteryear, with former world champions including Wayne Gardner, 'Fast' Freddie Spencer, and Raymond Roche just a few of the names promoting the return of the World GP Bike Legends to the Silverstone Classic in 2019. The former GP stars will once again be revving-up some fiery 500cc two-strokes – dating back to what many still regard as MotoGP’s most brutal and exciting period.
Described as the biggest, baddest racing motorcycles ever to see a track, these much-missed 200+mph monsters dominated the top flight of bike World Championships for almost three glorious decades.
You'll once again be treated to the stunning spectacle of some of the most beautiful looking – and sounding – racing bikes blasting around the full Grand Circuit ridden by some of the sport’s top names from past epochs. What’s more, you'll be able to meet the legends with autograph and photo sessions between the dramatic track demos.
Speaking about their return to the Silverstone Classic this year, Wayne Gardner said: “We always love to impress, inspire and entertain at great venues such as Silverstone – so it is wonderful to be back on the incredible Classic bill for a fourth year in a row.”
World GP Bike Legends will also be helping to power an awesome new bike zone, MotoWorld, putting a spotlight on the world of motorbikes at the Classic. Read more here.
