RetroRun - Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions must be observed in conjunction with the General Terms & Conditions.

  1. The RetroRun is organised by Chantry Communications and Automotive Services on behalf of Classic Historic Racing Ltd (CHRL), the promoters of the Silverstone Classic event. The road run element of the package is a Touring Assembly for which a Certificate of Exemption is issued by Motorsport UK to Classic Racing Club UK (a related company to CHRL).

  2. The RetroRun Package - which includes TWO general admission tickets and ONE infield vehicle display pass - is available to anyone with a classic car that is pre-1999 or of special interest.

  3. The infield vehicle display pass is issued as part of the RetroRun Package only. An infield vehicle display pass cannot be purchased separately.

  4. Infield vehicle display passes issued as part of the RetroRun Package are only valid for parking within the designated area.  Any vehicle parked outside of this is liable to be towed to the public car parks. Silverstone Circuit is private property and the Event Organisers reserve the right to tow any vehicle that is parked where it shouldn’t be.

  5. Given the large public spectator levels at the Silverstone Classic, there is to be no vehicle movement of display cars on the infield between 10:00 and 17:00 throughout the weekend so we request that you arrive before 10:00 and do not leave before 17:00 otherwise you may be required to park in the public car park. Your movement to and from the RetroRun display area upon your return to the Circuit on Saturday and for the track parade on Sunday will be closely supervised by the organisers.

  6. When booking, you will be asked for the make, model, year, colour and registration number of the vehicle you will be bringing to the event. The infield vehicle display pass will display this information and so will only be valid for the vehicle that has been registered. If you need to change your vehicle details for an alternate car for any reason, then this can be arranged. It needs to be done by the person who made the original booking and the process is explained to the ticket purchaser in their booking confirmation email.

  7. If you do not arrive in the vehicle registered or your vehicle does not fit the eligibility criteria, you will be invited to instead park in the public parking area outside the circuit; this is free of charge.

  8. Infield display space cannot be guaranteed and is subject to weather and ground conditions. Display areas are therefore subject to change and, in extenuating circumstances, may result in parking in the public parking area outside the circuit.

  9. Cars taking part in the RetroRun must be suitable and roadworthy for the event and the driver holds a current and valid road licence. The use of the vehicle entered will be covered by a motor insurance policy as required by the law which is valid for such part of this event as shall take place on public roads as defined by the law.

  10. In regard to the track parade which takes place on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit, passengers are allowed to take part but the number of people in any car must not exceed the number of seats fitted to the car and all must be in possession of an event ticket. All passengers must be seated in the seats provided and safety belts must be used. Children must be 12 years or above if in the front seat of a parade car, 8 years or above if in the rear seat. No child under 8 years is allowed to be a passenger.

  11. Standard motor insurance policies are likely to exclude driving on a motor racing circuit. It is mandatory for all drivers (and their passengers) taking part in the track parade to sign-on agreeing to indemnify and hold harmless each of or any combination of Motorsport UK and its associated clubs, the organisers, the track owners or other occupiers, the promoters and their respective officers, servants, representatives and agents in respect of any loss or damage whatsoever and howsoever arising from the driver’s participation in this event. A sign-on sheet will be provided to the driver in advance of the event, and this should be completed prior to arrival at the Silverstone Classic and brought along on the day of the track parade. Children 16 or under must have the signed approval of their parent or guardian to participate in a track parade. For each person signed-on, a wristband will be issued when the sign-on sheet is presented to a member of the Silverstone Classic team in the RetroRun display area prior to the track parade. All people who have signed-on must be present when wristbands are issued and affixed to the person’s wrist. Anyone without the issued wristband will not be permitted to take part in the track parade.

  12. If participating in a track parade lap please note there will be some holding time prior to a parade when participating vehicles may need to be in parade assembly areas. There may also be some holding time after a track parade whilst we return vehicles to their respective display areas. The exact timings of these will depend on the size of the parade.

  13. The parade lap will be one full lap of the grand prix circuit at slow speed. If accessing the circuit from the pitlane then the lap will be slightly less than one full lap as you will enter the circuit from the pitlane exit and leave the circuit at the pitlane entry point.

  14. When on track, cars should take up formation 2-abreast. Cars must not overtake other parade cars or the Course Cars, unless directed to do so by the Course Car driver. Drivers must keep to the speed set by the Course Cars, expected to be in the region of up to 40mph. There must be no holding back, no hard acceleration and no hard braking. Such driving standards will not be tolerated by the Event Organisers.

  15. Full written instructions for the parade lap including signing-on and track assembly area details and timings will be sent prior to the event.

  16. Parades cannot be guaranteed and are subject to the race programme and weather. In extenuating circumstances, a parade may be cancelled.

  17. Tickets are non-refundable.

  18. These RetroRun Package Terms and Conditions should be read in conjunction with the General Terms and Conditions. If there is a conflict with the General Terms and Conditions, the General Terms and Conditions take precedence over the RetroRun Terms and Conditions.

  19. Silverstone Classic reserves the right to alter the RetroRun Celebration Package Terms and Conditions at any time. Please check back regularly for changes.
